Best Gay Blog 17

"JUB is a great site with so much to offer - I enjoy the blogs as just one part of that!" said one member.

Excerpt from member Seth: I don’t get in here and write too often, but I am so pissed right now that I can hardly stand it. What the fuck is up with George Bush and his speech last night? I’m not even going to get into the whole thing about him mentioning 9/11 to justify the war in Iraq (as if Sudam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden are the same person). But, that did set the stage for a speech that was propaganda for his conservative base from start to finish. No, I don’t want to write about that. What I do want to write about is the rediculous direction Bush is taking in light of the polar opposite steps Canada is taking. Last night we had the President of the United States appear in a live address to the nation on the aniversary of the transition of power in Iraq. The occasion was to drum up support for the war movement. The President could have taken the opportunity to offer a plan on how the war was going to end… the withdrawl strategy. Instead… he went straight to pandering for his conservative base by offering up this little gem. He is worried about the Iraqi constitution and wants to be sure that it defines marriage as a union between one Iraqi man and one Iraqi woman. What the fuck? Is that really where his head is right now? Solidiers are dying… to protect the institution of marriage in Iraq? As you can tell.. I’m livid. What have we done by electing this man as President. I didn’t vote for him, but I still have to live under his rule. I am frightened. In much better news, Canada took a big step forward yesterday by legalizing Gay Marriage across the whole country. It was already legal by most provinces, but now it is a federal “mandate” there (pun intended). This seems exactly like the kind of progressive attitude one would expect humanity to evolve to. Thank you Canada for joining Belgium and the Netherlands in realizing that there is nothing wrong with 2 people, regardless of their sex, to share a life together and to be treated equally under the law. On the same day, two toally different outcomes. I ask you… which would you rather support? As for me… I’m glad JUB is in Canada today.

Best Gay Blog 16

Naked“This is the naked truth about my gay life in Nashville, Tennessee. Everything here is raw, honest, and uncensored. The atmosphere ranges from high drama to light hearted laughter at any time. This is the journey through my inner self.”

Nathan Exposed is exactly that – a truthful exploration of this gay man’s life experience – very artfully shared with its readers. This blog is professionally designed and easy to navigate and deserves very high marks in that category. Further, its content is constantly making you think about the small and large issues of your own life. From a broken relationship with a brother and his family to the boring nature of this season’s Desperate Housewives, Nathan Exposed gets to the core. That is why we have selected it as one of the Best Gay Blogs.

Excerpt:
What has happened to Wisteria Lane? Last year, “Desperate Housewives” became a Sunday night routine for Rodney and me. Everybody loved it, and it seemed like the show could never fail. They even rushed out the Season One DVD, and I’ve never seen a series come out that fast.
Naked
But this season has been a huge yawner. Where is the action? Let’s face it - this show became popular because of the sex, the murders, the mysteries, and the hot guys. Now it’s gotten soft. We lost the hot gardener. Fuckers. Now it looks like Mike is out of the picture. Again, fuckers. We lost the gay characters. We’ve solved most of the mysteries. We need some new drama. And I mean REAL drama, not this watered down shit!

The wicked backspin caught you off guard. How will you play it off without losing your footing?

Excerpt:
To do next week: grow a pair
There's a man at the gym ....he's beautiful. He's probably 35, maybe a little bit older, and he looks like a model. Beautiful body, amazing full lips, messy silver and charcoal hair. he's exactly my type. And i don't even think i have a type, but i do and he's it. We've been cruising each other for about six months now. and -- you know -- i am a pretty open guy. People feel comfortable talking to me. Too comfortable. The creepy indian (dot not feather) old man there certainly has no issues about approaching me, nor does the strange toy-store owner around the corner. Shit - those guys will cross the street to ask me about any intimate detail I've ever let slip in conversation with them. but this guy -- we'll call him the silver fox -- and I have been at it for so long, now, that i'm afraid we're at a kind of cruising plateau that I don't know how to get off of. He simply won't make the first move, which has me completely petrified.

Best Gay Blog 14

Completely Naked is an adult themed blog written by a gay man’s real life account of his sex life as a gay dude in sunny California. He likes sex a little on the edgy side. You'll see what that means when you begin to read some of his content. For instance he shares with us a recent encounter with Tyler. Tyler is a twenty something college student who likes to invite gay men over to his dorm and get a “massage”. He has his limits as he is “straight”, but gives great deal of latitude in his non-gay affections including an after massage shower (but no sex).

The blog owner (who remains nameless) describes his interest in nakedness in his first blog entry in August of 2005 (post-dated to April), “I recently discovered a need to be vulnerable and naked in front of others, whether it be in public, among other naked guys, among clothed guys, or in front of authority. Sometimes I like to be tied down, spanked, flogged and tortured. Sometimes I like to be physically examined and humiliated by someone of authority. I am a complete exhibitionist.”

The writer of Completely Naked admits, “I am not the greatest writer in the world. Some may say I stink and that I should keep my day job. I am not writing this blog to be a writer but to record my exploration of these fetishes.” Despite his writing style, he is able to effectively communicate these explorations and details of his stories that help us envision them. He claims that every story is as accurate as my memory allows except the names of the people. The pictures in his blog are, for the majority, not him, but rather have been pulled from various sites on the internet. He has done a very nice job of findings some hot studs in these photos to add to the entertaining value of the stories.

Completely Naked has a fairly regular following of other men who enjoy his escapades and take pleasure in seeing his hunk finds such as of Matheus Verdelho. Completely Naked does not have a unique design, although it is very professional, clean, and easy to get around. It has a very nice bright and fitting banner. He also has engaged his readers through the use of surveys. The current questions are very basic – sexual orientation and gender, but we hope that the surveys will become more creative over time.

I encourage you to tune in to the blog soon, as he will tell us about how his “straight college massage boy” Tyler called him after the massage session to get together this past Saturday.
It will be interesting to hear the details of how things went. Other recent topics include a shout out to Tottyland, a Starbuck encounter, and a Castro Halloween party.

Best Gay Blog 13

A Socialite's Life is written by Miu von Furstenberg, who currently resides in New York City. While you may or may not care if Lindsay Lohan has pooped today, this fun blog is sure to share it with its readers. A Socialite's Life if a gossip site that celebrates, criticizes, mocks and has fun with all things that are related to celebrity, fashion, and media. In other words, anyone in the public eye is fair game.

A Socialite’s Life was begun in August of 2003 and has been sharing the scoop with its readership ever since. You can easily move around in the content of the site by selecting current stories, selecting from a drop down of stars, or selecting a month and year archive section. Whether you are looking for stories and photos on Ben Affleck’s hands, Anderson Cooper and his Mommy, or special spy games with Brad Pitt, you are sure to find something entertaining.

Miu has two “spiritual designers” (using Typekey as the blog backbone) who have had an impact on the design, which is fairly simple and doesn’t have the best layout, but readers don’t seem to care since the content is so good. The current readership averages around 600,000 per month and is continuing to grow. Heck, when a blog can charge $500 a month for an advertisement, you know they are doing something right. There is plenty of new content added daily, and with the assistance of a copy editor, Miu is able to write all that and manage over 400 comments and emails each day. Very impressive!

I encourage you to read the Ordinary People section which is full of stories that you just wouldn’t expect to read – a battle between a man and deer, a taxicab shares “crappy” cookies, or a parking ticket issued for a dead man. These stories are very sad, funny, and enlightening.

Other recent topics include a day at the beach with Angelina and Brad, Paris Hilton’s ass cheek goiter and Kevin Federline’s spending binge. So Miu invites you to grab a martini, load up on the caviar, and read on!

Best Gay Blog 12

Men of Color was begun as an effort to put together a gay adult website devoted to men of color by its owner. The owner (Victor) took some recent inheritance money to fund the effort which includes not only a blog – but also a great deal of photo and video entertainment in its parent site. The blog, however, which is solely being rated here, is in large part a compilation of other site findings that fall into the theme of his desires and interests (and yes, sometimes just plain “wasp” porn). As a result, many of the sites he has found are from various places all over the world and are quite a diverse selection for those not just interested in twink white boys (Mexican, African- American, Asian, and Chinese among others). Unfortunately, we found that a few of the links in the recent articles were dead links. The remaining working links bring you oftentimes to other quality adult websites with some very hot men.

Men of Color started posting to the web in January of 2005. He has been sharing his feelings and thoughts of politics and gay and porn related news since then. He also has included a quote of the week to share with his large readership. Men of Color does not have the most unique design, although it is very professional and clean. It has a very effective search engine (using freefind.com) that allows you to find whatever topic you would like on the blog.

I encourage you to read the interaction between Victor and Michael Lucas in August 2005. It is regarding an exchange of emails about a legal dispute between Michael Lucas and Dark Alley Media where Victor was trying to get a response to the story. The exchange ends with Victor emailing Michael, “You are a(n) petulant child.”

Victor does talk a fair bit in his entries about the porn industry from a first hand perspective. If you are at all interested in the industry, I would encourage you to add MOC to your blog list. Other recent topics include an evaluation of the future of porn, sex with an Iraqi, and pulling Towleroad.

Best Gay Blog 11

Paul LekakisJoseph is a 30 year old from Atlanta (born in Southern California) whose boyfriend BJ is the owner of another great blog, Sodomy Creek. He describes his interests as Politics, Technology, Science Fiction, and of course sex. Joseph’s blog is very well organized and easy to find what interests you. He has quite a bit of experience in the blogging world after all, as he started his own on May 8, 1996 when he was still in California. He has been sharing tidbits of his life with us ever since (with a few blips of snow on the radar). The meat of the content really began in 1999 when his sense of discovery and freedom took him on a road trip across America which led him to meet BJ in Atlanta. After that meeting (and having sex every night they were initially together), he was hooked. He is a romantic who shared about sending CD’s, love letters, and thoughts of kidnapping BJ with his readers.

Monotonous dot net is not the average looking blog. It has a simple, but effective design with a great search engine to find anything you want. Be specific, though, since the word “sex” will bring up almost every entry.

You can’t help but be drawn to the sexy photo he found on Live Journal glaring on the left side of his banner. Joseph shares numerous other photos through his site including some other great hunks, pictures of himself and friends, gay art and even a gator photo.

Joseph shares some intimate and private thoughts with his readers as well. For instance he gives us insight into his initial fears and concerns about moving in with BJ, “Last night, BJ gave me a letter, saying that I had taken his heart from him, and to be careful with it. I realized after he kept saying that I had his heart that he was trying to say that he loved me (at least this is my interpretation). Even so, I was scared to say “I love you.” It’s such a strong declaration and can’t be taken back. What would I be signing onto? Once you tell someone you love them, I think you owe them more than you did before. Besides that, there was still a major possibility of being rejected or having him think all of this was going too fast.” Joseph is able to take us through various stages of his life by talking about his current life in one entry and then bringing us back to a memory from his younger “cruisier” days in the next.

Joseph shares some of the simple things in life such as books he’s read (he’s a John C. Wright fan), movies he has seen (or is yet to see like The Godfather) and even the sensitive subject of death. Go check it out yourselves to provide your own comments and thoughts. Other recent topics include a brain survey, porn clerk stories, and an Alaskan stalker.
